Mud Bay Community Dock is a vital link for many islanders to Nanaimo for work, shopping, school and other activities, its upkeep is essential both for insurance purposes and water lot lease conditions.
Mud Bay Dock is a COMMUNITY DOCK for the use of Protection Island residents. It is paid for with user fees and donations and maintained by the volunteer labour of the community.
For more information about the dock and how it is used please consult the Dock Expectations
The Mud Bay Dock has been working successfully for many years under this community model due to the collective efforts, financial support, and the common courtesies of our neighbours.

Sincerely, your Mud Bay Dock Committee: Kevin Pistor, Al Bishop, Jason Metz, and Doug Naylor.
The committee investigated various methods of on-line payment. They were either too costly to justify the expense (approximately $700 if everyone paid by credit card) and/or too time consuming for our volunteers, which would take things in the wrong direction. We will continue with cheque and cash payments for now and will revisit our options at a later date.
