Mud Bay Community Dock is a vital transportation hub for Protection Islanders going to work, shop, attend school and other activities. Annual upkeep of the dock infrastructure is essential both for insurance purposes and water lot lease conditions.

Mud Bay Dock is a COMMUNITY DOCK for the use of Protection Island residents. It is paid for with user fees and donations and maintained by the volunteer labour of the community. The Mud Bay Dock has been working successfully for many decades under a community model supported by collective labour, financial support, respect, and consideration.

The dock floats in the traditional territory of the Snuneymuxw First Nation.

For more information on how the dock came to be read the History of Mud Bay Dock.

All dock users who have made a labour contribution at a work party in 2022 will receive an email from the committee in the first week of November. The email will indicate the fees owed, with applicable credits applied. Credits are based on actual contributions of record made over the past year. Work credit can be applied to the early bird special for the best kind of double dipping. If you did not contribute to a work party by November 1st, simply pay the full amount.
